the miniCFO recently starred in the “homebrewed electronic music” workshop at design school kolding. during 3 days, students of the school experimented with physical exploration in musical interaction. lots of noise. lots of fun.

l’insecte at alt cph

science friction was at alt cph 12 with l’insecte. l’insecte is an art installation based on synths made from the original CFO design. jacob sikker remin did a composition for 2 synths. here is a recording of the sounds and here is some pictures from the show.

in beijing for notch11, and i will be hosting a miniCFO workshop on the 24th of september and jam / impro concert on the 25th of september. apart from the workshop i will also present 1 kinetic light installation and 1 painting robot. if you are in the neighbourhood, you should drop by.

for the workshop the beijing hackerspace flamingoeda made awesome miniCFOs: black, gold, yellow LEDs. sweet!

miniCFO at roskilde festival

jakob bak / videomusik has designed a miniCFO, which we will be assembling at this years roskilde festival. it is a simpler, sweeter take on CFO, with focus on arpeggiator madness + playability. the workshop will be in the yourspace area tuesday june 28th and sunday july 3rd. both days from 12-20. come build your own synth!

this is a small video demo of CHEAP, FAT and OPEN, MFRU edition

sound is recorded straight into a laptop and mixed with the camera sound for voice over. the audio drifts a bit in the end of the clip. sorry about that.

not really the first blog post on this project, as this originally started out as a CIID thesis project.

the launch of this blog marks the first revision of the original CHEAP, FAT and OPEN design, and the first production batch of 25 pcs. this revision of the design is made in connection with a CFO workshop at the MFRU festival in maribor, slovenia + a CFO appearance at piksel festival in bergen, norway.
